Mary Olga Metcalfe, 88, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Mary Olga Metcalfe, 88, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.

Born November 28, 1924 in Madisonville, KY she was the daughter of the late Thomas Herbert Barton and Cassie Shadrick Barton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Buddy" Metcalfe, in 2007; and two brothers, Thomas Herbert Barton Jr. and John Lyman Barton.

She was a member of the Cardinal Garden Club, a long time member of the Women's Book Club, and St. Mary's Episcopal Church. She was also a long time volunteer at Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by: two daughters, Sally (Steven) Metcalfe-Swanson of McLean, VA and Mary (Frank) Defini of Madisonville; three sons, Duncan (Burnita) Metcalfe of Athens, TN, Tommy (Fay) Metcalfe of Kuttawa, KY and Robert (Glenna) Metcalfe Jr. of Georgetown, KY; one brother, Price Barton of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Candyce Loescher officiating. Burial will follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
