Beatrice (Hawkins) Chandler, 92 of Slaughters, KY

SLAUGHTERS, Ky. - Beatrice (Hawkins) Chandler, 92 of Slaughters, KY passed away at 5:03 PM Wednesday March 27, 2013 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY.

She was born in Slaughters, KY on February 14, 1921 to the late Benjamin Franklin and Ruby Alma (Walls) Hawkins.

She was a homemaker and a retired beautician. She was a member of Slaughters Baptist Church, enjoyed crochet and knitting, an avid UK and NASCAR fan but most of all loved her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, G. L. Chandler, Sr (1988) and a sister, Bobbye Hawkins Timmons.

She is survived by 3 children; G. L. Chandler, Jr., of Ellettsville, IN, Pam Marks of Lawrenceburg, KY, Phyllis Patterson of Slaughters, KY; 4 Grandchildren; Jeff Chandler, Keith Major, Chandler Marks and Walker Marks; 6 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granddaughter.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Slaughters Baptist Church. Bro. Brad Rodgers and Bro. Andrew Sexton will officiate.

Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 at Slaughters Baptist Church and also from 10:0 AM until service time Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Keith Major, Jeff Chandler, Chandler Marks, Walker Marks, John Marks and Terry Rudd.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Hayden Carver, Jim Hayes, Donald Tompkins, and Marvin Warren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
