HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Rufus Earl Farmer, 78 of White Plains, KY passed away Thursday March 28, 2013 in the Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home, Madisonville. He was born July 7th, 1934 in Muhlenberg Co. to the late Rufus M. and the late Ina (Earle) Farmer. Mr. Farmer was married to Wilma Crunk for 54 wonderful years. He was a retired coal miner and a veteran of the Army. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Edna Lorene Wimberly.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Wilma (Crunk) Farmer; one daughter, Linda (Valerie Jo) Evans of Fontana, CA; three sons, Jeff (Diana) Farmer of Nortonville, Chris (Crystal) Farmer of White Plains, and Tim (Kelly) Farmer of Dawson Springs; four sisters, Dorothy Wicks of Madisonville, Lola (Burton) Oglesby of White Plains, Ina Rae Butcher of Ocala, FL, and Sue (Homer) Richey of White Plains; four grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Farmer, Rebecca Farmer, Caitlin Farmer and Collin Farmer; and two step grandchildren, Kayla McNeily and Patrick Peebles.
Services will be held graveside at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains with Bro. Bobby Reno officiating and Hopkins County Honor Guard performing military rites.
Friends may call Sunday from 5-8pm at Bandy Funeral Home, Nortonville, and Monday graveside at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Farmer, Collin Farmer, Patrick Peebles, Deron Harris, Jody Richey, John Oldham, and Terry Wimberly. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis and Nathan Richey.
