Shirley Franklin, age 75

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Shirley Franklin, age 75, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at her residence in St. Charles, KY. She was born in DeKalb County, Alabama, on September 23, 1937 to the late William & Connie Chandler Lackey. Mrs. Franklin was a homemaker and also worked for Outwood Rescare and the Dawson Springs Community Schools. She was of the Christian faith.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by four daughters ~ Elizabeth Latham, Barbara Sneed and Ruby Sneed of St. Charles, KY & Crystal Franklin of White Plains, KY; a sister ~ Lillian Mabrey of Detroit, Michigan; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Franklin is preceded in death by her parents; her husband ~ James Franklin; a son ~ Jerry Wayne Smith (departed 11/2/2012); three sisters and two brothers.

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Shirley Franklin at Cranor Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April1, 2013.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Hatcher, Keith Smith, Ethan Shelton, Roger Latham, Jr., Jamie Sneed & Jason Hatcher.
