House Move Delayed Due to Unforeseen Difficulties

trafficalert blue 300HENDERSON, Ky. (4/24/13) – Due to vertical clearance issues along the original route, a house move planned for last week in Henderson had to be delayed. The house mover now expects to move the home via a different route starting at about Midnight on Friday, April 26, 2013, and continuing into the early hours of Saturday.

The house mover plans to transport a Habitat for Humanity House from Henderson High School to 732 Fifth Street in Henderson.

Kenneth Baker with Heartland Home Movers of Benton, KY, says the move will most likely be Friday night or Monday night, providing preparations work out as planned.

The home will be moved from the high school by turning southward on Garden Mile Road, then west on KY 812/Airline Road to US 41. The home will then turn north on US 41 and travel the wrong way on the KY 2084 Connector to KY 351/Second Street. After a short eastward jog on KY 352/Second Street, the home movers will turn onto Priest Street for one block, then follow Heilman Avenue to Fifth Street to place the home on the lot at 732 Fifth Street.

Baker expects the move to start about midnight and the 2-mile trip to take about an hour to complete.

Motorists should be aware of this home move during the overnight hours.

Barker’s permit requires him to have a police escort. In case of weather issues on Friday night, the permit is good for a ten day window.
