HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Dannie French, 58, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at his sister's residence.
He was born June 22, 1954 to Glenna Faye Ramsey French and the late James Walter French. He was also preceded in death by one brother, F.L. French.
Mr. French worked as a contractor, and won Builder Contractor of the Year several times, a member of Lotus Club (Amateur Racing) of Pentecostal Faith and attended Greater Lighthouse and Lonestar through his life.
He is survived by his mother, Glenna Faye Ramsey French; daughter, Jo Elizabeth "Jo Beth" French of Richmond, KY; one sister, Janice Faye Smith of Madisonville; one brother, Jackie (Sandy) French, of Hanson, KY; three nieces and nephews, Christopher (Nancy) Smith of Yuma, AZ, Daphyne (Joe) Maddox of Madisonville, and Kenny Smith of N. Canton, OH; and four great nieces and nephews, Ezekiel "Zeke" and Judah Maddox of Madisonville, and Elizabeth and Nicholas "Nick" Smith of Yuma; and two surrogate sons, Donnie Cummins of Madisonville and Ray Ray Brasher of Hanson.
A celebration of Life service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Bro. Ronnie Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery in Hanson.
The family will receive family and friends between 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9 at the funeral home and from noon until the service hour Friday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Steve Faulk, Steve Nance, Doug Ramey, Tony Smith, Ricky Bowles, and Roger Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Brasher, Donnie Cummins, Jerry Richardson, Tony Cessna, Tony Space, and Larry Alexander.
Because of his love for children, memorial contributions may be made to C.A.S.A of Hopkins County. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
