Hattie (Pat) Dement Vandiver, 84, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Hattie (Pat) Dement Vandiver, 84, of Madisonville, KY passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Brighton Cornerstone Nursing Home in Madisonville.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a member of First Baptist Church.

She was born May 26, 1928, to the late Ollie James Dement and Claudie Winstead Dement. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years George Morris Vandiver; a sister, Ann Adams and a brother, James Dement.

She is survived by one daughter, Marsha (Chris) Salmon of Lexington, KY; one son, Mark (Paula) Vandiver of Madisonville; one brother, Curtis (Alice) Dement of Claremore, OK; five grandchildren, Ben (Emily) Salmon of Bend, OR, Adam (Diem) Salmon of Silver Spring, MD, Emily (Ryan) Sallee of Lexington, Leigh (Mica) Graves of Austin, TX, and Michael (Samantha) Vandiver of Madisonville; and five great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Laura, Tyler, William and Myan.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow in the Vandiver Family Mausoleum in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
