Florence Geneva Rudd, 94, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Florence Geneva Rudd, 94, of Madisonville, KY, left the same home in which she was born to be in the presence of her Savior on Thursday, May 23, 2013.

She was born November 27, 1918 to the late Bennie Madison and Vera Mullenix Madison. She was also preceded by her husband of 68 years, Melvin Rudd.

Mrs. Rudd was a homemaker and Co-Owner of the Madison-Rudd Dairy Farm. She was a faithful lifetime member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Hanson. She served as a pianist, treasurer, and teacher. She was part of the 4H Leadership Council, the homemakers club for over 60 years, and election poll volunteer.

She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Littlepage of Hanson, KY and Pam (Neil) Helton of Amelia Island, FL; three grandchildren. Dr. Ben Rudd (Jenn) Littlepage of Murray, KY, Jonathan Rudd (Kendra) Helton of Warrenville, IL, and Brittany Madison Helton of Jackson, TN; and one great grandchild, Sadie Grace Littlepage.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Neil Helton, Bro. Gary Taylor and Bro. Bobby Sellers officiating. Family reflections will be made by Dr. Ben Littlepage and Jonathan Helton. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:30 P.M. Monday and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Allan Curtis, Erbie Ashby, Dr. Terry Brown, Alan Duncan, John Melton, Steve Harper, Josh McKnight and Bryce Harville. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodger Rudd, David Rudd and David Branson.

Because the Rudd family appreciated the WNKJ/WNLJ 91.7 FM non profit Christian radio ministry, Mrs. Rudd had their tower placed on the Rudd Family farm to provide local broadcasting. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to WNKJ/WNLJ ministry or Olive Branch Building Fund or Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
