Warren County Public Library Offers Art Exhibit

warren co pub library1 300BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (6/11/13) – VSA Kentucky student art continues at the Porter Café at the Main Library.

“New Understanding” is an exhibition of artwork created by K-12 students with disabilities in collaboration with Western Kentucky University Art Education students. The New Understanding project is a partnership between VSA Kentucky, The State Organization on Arts and Disability; Dr. Miwon Choe of the Department of Art at Western Kentucky University; the Kentucky Museum; and the Warren County Public Library.

Cathy Wester will exhibit her photography at the Bob Kirby Branch. Cathy is an amateur photographer and enjoys the outdoors and country life. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a BS degree is Environmental Health Science.

Delaire Rowe will exhibit her work at the Smiths Grove Branch. Delaire’s paintings, drawings, and prints have been exhibited throughout the region and the U.S. as well as in Europe and Japan. “Artistic Pursuits” is an exhibition of ideas, observations and artistic self-expression by Rowe. The selections represent different times in the artistic life of one individual.

“We are all affected by the many changes that occur in the evolving circumstances of our lives, and my artistic pursuits continue to reflect that evolution,” says Rowe. “This exhibition represents a stopping place where I can reflect and prepare to begin something new.”

Exhibits open on Monday, July 1. For information about these exhibits or exhibiting at the library, contact Jayne Pelaski: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
