David A. Bowles, 76, of Madisonville, KY

1sunsetHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - David A. Bowles, 76, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

He was born March 8, 1937 in Hopkins Co, KY to Thelma A. Jackson Bowles and the late Richard E. Bowles. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva Bowles.

Mr. Bowles owned Bowles Tool and Die Company. He was a Navy Reservist. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, a member of the Madisonville Masonic Lodge #143, known for music at "The Barn," and was a licensed gunsmith among many other skills.

He is survived by his mother, Thelma A. Bowles; three daughters, Becky (Mike) Wilson, Beverly Bean, and Jana (Marshall) Clark, all of Madisonville; one son, David (Mary) Bowles of Madisonville; two brothers, Jim (Janie) Bowles of Earlington, and Donald (Betty) Bowles of Madisonville, six grandchildren, Kelly (Brett) Wayne of Greenville, Richard (Casey) Reynolds of Jacksonville, NC, Andrew Wilson of Madisonville, Shelby Bowles of Madisonville, Jake Bowles of Madisonville and Rachel (Greg) Symington of Nashville, TN; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Mason and Ingy Winders officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2013 and after 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
