Kirby C. Crabtree, 83, of Henderson, KY

1sunsetHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Kirby C. Crabtree, 83, of Henderson, KY passed away at 3:41 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2013 at Lucy Smith King Care Center.

He was born on February 22, 1930 in Hanson, KY to the late Claude L. Crabtree and Mary Mabel Cobb Crabtree. He is a retired truck driver from Cresline and Ligon. He was a KY Colonel. He attended Zion Baptist and Cash Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Crabtree of Henderson, KY; his daughter, Linda (Harry) Manos of Rockford, IL; his son, Christopher (Alicia) Crabtree of Greenwood, IN; his step-son Carl (Patricia) Vanover of Madisonville; three step-daughters Gail Sandefur of Dixon, KY, Martha Cobb of Central City, KY, and Connie (Lilburn) Vincent of Breman, KY, nineteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Danny Lutz and Rev. Bobby Todd officiating. Military rites will be by 101st Airborne Division of Ft. Campbell, Ky and Hopkins County Honor Guard. Burial to follow in Crabtree Cemetery in Hanson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons and step grandsons.

Memorial donations can be made to the St. Anthony's Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
