blueskyHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Douglas Vaughn, 89, of Madisonville, KY passed away at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center in Madisonville on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 8 p.m.

He was born on August 27, 1923 in Nebo, KY to the late Ross Vaughn and Irene Kirkwood Vaughn. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air force serving in WWII and Korea. He was formerly employed as a security guard with Goodyear in Madisonville.

He is survived by his son, Steve (Cheryl) Vaughn of Granite City, IL; three grandchildren, Miriah Vaughn, Brooke Vaughn and Luke Vaughn; and several cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Burial to follow. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

There will be no visitation. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
