William Douglas Bowman, 77 of Nortonville, Ky

3sunsetHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - William Douglas Bowman, 77 of Nortonville, Ky passed away Thursday July 4, 2013 in the Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, KY. Born December 3, 1935 in Hopkins Co., he was the son of the late Otis and the late Ora (Cozart) Bowman. Doug was a 1954 graduate of Nortonville High School. As a young man he served in the Army and went on to retire as a coal miner from Peabody Coal UMWA District 23. He also worked at the KY State Repair Garage, was a member of Nortonville United Methodist Church, and a long standing member of N.H. Shaw Lodge # 608. Doug loved his family and friends and made the most of his time with them.

Survived by his wife of 46 years Hilda(Fox) Bowman; one daughter, Millie (Mike) Seiber of Earlington; one son, Jason (Jennifer) Bowman of Madisonville; and three grandsons, Michael Seiber of Earlington, and Clay and Cody Bowman of Madisonville, KY.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Bandy Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Henn officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8pm and Monday from 11am till service time at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be Monday in New Salem Cemetery, Nortonville with the Hopkins County Honor Guard performing military rites. Memorial gifts may be made in honor of Doug to the Nortonville United Methodist Church.
