HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - James (Jim) Edward Utterback, 82, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
He was born December 11, 1930 in Caldwell Co., KY to the late Charlie Utterback and Ivy Belle McDowell Utterback. He was also preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Utterback was a Rizpah Shriner, a Mason at the Providence, KY Lodge #148 F&AM, Ky Colonel, and he was of the Methodist faith. He was a fox hunter, an antique collector, gun and knife collector, he loved horse shows, loved being in the outdoors and he was a charter member of the Hopkins Co. Coonhunters Club.
He is survived by his wife of 59 in a half years, Naomi Utterback of Madisonville; one daughter, Cindy (James) Holeman of Nebo, KY; three sons, Stephen Utterback of Nashville, TN; Mike (Mary) Utterback of Hopkinsville, KY and Danny (Deborah) Utterback of Manitou, KY; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Whitmer officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 11:30 A.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
