Eva Smith Thomas, age 93, of Versailles, KY (formerly of Dawson Springs, KY)

1flowerHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Eva Smith Thomas, age 93, of Versailles, KY (formerly of Dawson Springs, KY) passed away on July 6, 2013 at Taylor Manor Nursing Home in Versailles, KY. She was born on October 24, 1919, and was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked as the manager of the Ben Franklin Store in Dawson Springs. She was an active member of the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church, which was the center of her life. She loved cooking and entertaining and often entertained friends. She and her husband, Lester, loved traveling with friends and family.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband~ Lester Thomas of Versailles, KY; two daughters and sons-in-law ~ Sharon & Ken Perry of Versailles, KY, Joyce & Al Adkins of Burlington, KY; a brother ~ Lawrence Smith of Mayfield, KY; three grandchildren ~ Brian Perry of Lexington, KY, Craig Alderson and his wife Candice of Burlington, KY & Cheryl Alderson of Burlington, KY; two great-grandchildren ~ Dakota Davis & Summer Lighthall.

Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her parents ~ Byrd & Maude Smith; sisters ~ Novella Cartwright, Senath Ausenbaugh, Mable Board & Opal Hicks and a brother ~ James Nichols Smith.

Visitation for Mrs. Eva Thomas will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 and from 8:00 A.M. until the 10:00 A.M. funeral hour on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Beshear Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at Beshear Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 conducted by Elder Jeff Winfrey and Rev. Kathryn Welch. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.

Active Pallbearers will be Al Adkins, Ken Perry, Brian Perry, Craig Alderson, Tony Smith & Trevor Sewell. Her great-grandson, Dakota Davis, will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

Also, there will be a memorial service for Mrs. Thomas on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at noon EDT at the Midway Baptist Church in Midway, KY.
