SurfKY News Enters Into Media Partnership with Eyewitness News

surf tristateWESTERN KENTUCKY (8/2/13) – SurfKY News Group, Inc. today announced a new media partnership with Eyewitness News on WEHT Local, Local 7 WTVW and Tristatehomepage.com to provide enhanced service to western Kentucky communities. The two news organizations will be sharing news content as well as taking advantage of cross marketing opportunities.
 
SurfKY President, Ron Sanders, said “Eyewitness News has a long history of quality news and weather reporting. We are very excited to partner with them to provide more news coverage for the western Kentucky area. Also, we are particularly excited about working with Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart and the Eyewitness News weather team to help keep our communities safe and informed during severe weather.” Sanders added, “I would personally like to extend my congratulations to Eyewitness News on the opening of their expanded western Kentucky bureau in Owensboro.”
 
Commenting on the partnership, Arika L. Zink, Vice President and General Manager of WEHT Local, said, “As the TriState’s first local television station, WEHT Local has served the entire TriState Community for nearly 60-years, with passion. The Eyewitness News team is very excited about expanding our Western Kentucky resources and partnerships to provide additional services to our great community. Zink continued, “I look forward to partnering with SurfKY News and making our ongoing discussions for partnership turn into additional community coverage and additional opportunities for us to support our amazing viewers from Western Kentucky.”
 
Eyewitness News Director, Bob Freeman, was instrumental in forging the new relationship. “I am very pleased to be able to improve our news coverage to a very important segment of our viewers. The news resources of SurfKY News compliments and strengthens our news team.”
     
More information will be forthcoming. Watch Eyewitness News this evening starting at 4 on WEHT Local for “live” coverage of the official opening of the expanded western Kentucky bureau offices.
