Leon A, Combs, Sr., 75, of Sturgis, KY

sunsetbridgeHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Leon A, Combs, Sr., 75, of  Sturgis, KY passed away on August 19, 2013 at Baptist Hospital Madisonville peacefully surrounded by his family.

He was born April 5, 1938 in Madisonville, KY to the late Robert and Stella Suggs Combs Sr.

He was preceded by two brothers Robert Combs JR and Perry Combs. Also preceded by his granddaughter McKenzie Leigh Combs

Leon was retired after 30 years of service from UPS (United Parcel Service) in Madisonville KY.  He was a dedicated member of Christ Church Holiness, Madisonville serving as Deacon and former Chairman of the Brotherhood.  He was avid supporter of the Youth Department and Building Committee.  Leon loved his church family.

He leaves to cherish in his memory his wife of 25 years Sharon Combs, three sons, Leon  Combs, JR (Regina), Lamont Combs (Christina) and Freeman L. Kinard (Jazma); Five Grandchildren, Rashad, Montaya, Lamontaza, Mitchell, and Alexandria; His sister Karla Washington (George), his brother Samuel Combs (Helen). Neices  Starlin Willis (Gary), Phyllis Mason, Tamura Jones, Cynthia Washington, Priestly Combs, Elaine Combs-Aytch(Keith), Wanda Nix (Ronnie), Nancy Wilson (Alvis), and Georgia Combs and nephews, Chris Hunt (Stephanie), Kevin Combs, Gregory Combs (Valarie), and TJ Combs his aunt Betty Drake and uncle, Croder Thomas; Host of cousins, family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Mount Sterling CP Church, 618 N Pike St.,  Sturgis KY and 10:00am until funeral hour at Oak Grove Baptist, Madisonville KY.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 309 Graves St, Madisonville KY with Elder Robert Clemmons officiating. Arrangements handled by Mason and Sons Funeral Home.
