Anthony Donald Mercer, age 72, of Dawson Springs, KY

1doveHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Anthony Donald Mercer, age 72, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Mercer was born on September 24, 1940, in East St. Louis, IL, to the late Donald Mercer and Pauline Rojas Mercer. Mr. Mercer graduated in 1958 from East St. Louis High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1958 to 1964. He retired from Peabody Coal Company and was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Mercer is survived by a daughter ~ Tamara Martin of Madisonville, KY; a son ~ Anthony S. Mercer of Madisonville, KY; his former wife ~ Sue Mercer of Dawson Springs, KY; a sister ~ Donna Santagato of St. Clair, IL; a brother ~ Richard Mercer of St. Clair, IL and four grandchildren.

A private celebration of life is being planned by his family.
