Louis Gay, 69, of Dawson Springs, KY

1cloudsHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Louis Gay, 69, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away Tuesday August 27, 2013 at St Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, IN.

He was born September 18, 1943 in LeCompte, LA to the late Cleo Bryan Gay and Evie Irene Hanna Gay.

Mr. Gay attended Richland Baptist Church, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spoiling his granddaughter. He retired from Goodyear Rubber Company after 25 years of service and was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy Barnes Gay; one daughter, Michelle Hopper of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Martha Ann (Billy) Kennedy and Linda Gayle (Sonny) Cook both of LA; two brothers, D.B. Gay and Don (Rachel) Gay both of LA; one granddaughter, Amanda Capps of Arlington, TN; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County with Rev. Jim Lantrip officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements handled by Barnett-Strother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Richland Baptist Church.
