Althea Faye Johnson Adams, 87, formerly of Madisonville, KY

1doveHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Althea Faye Johnson Adams, 87, of Grand Rapids, MI formerly of Madisonville, KY passed away at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Rest Haven Home.

She was born on July 1, 1926 in Duenweg, MO to the late Charles B. Johnson and Frances Gooch Johnson. She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother and grandmother to her family. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Adams; three brothers and a sister.

She is survived by daughters, Sharron (Floyd) Heims of Indiana and Nancie (Andrew) Smith of Michigan; her sons, Charles (Janet) Adams, Paul (Susan) Adams both of Indiana, Karl (Chris) Adams of Kentucky, and Jim (Radka) Adams of West Virginia; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with son in law, Rev. Andrew L. Smith officiating. Burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rest Haven Home 1424 Union Ave. NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505-5197.
