Randy Freeman Kingery, 63 of Hanson, KY

 

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Randy F. 'The King' Kingery, 63, of Hanson, KY, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

He was born April 21, 1950 in Beulah, KY to the late Paul and June Dean Kingery. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Karen Fork.

Randy was a West Hopkins Graduate in 1968. He served in the US Army from 1970-1972 in the Vietnam Theater as a Medic. He retired from General Electric in July 2010 after 30 plus years. He was well known around the plant for riding his fork truck and visiting the girls. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church having converted to the faith several years ago. He loved being outside working around the yard and tinkering around his shop. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren his many trades. He also enjoyed putzing around on his tractor and gator. He loved to fish even if he didn't catch anything.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Valerie Kingery of Hanson; sister, Kathy Hutcherson of Virginia; brother, Rick (Nancy) Kingery of Nebo, KY; four children, Kathy (Rod) Hyatt of Madisonville; Brian Kingery of Hanson; Steve Kingery of Hanson and William (Cindy) Kingery of Newburgh, IN; two step sons, David Brackney of Madisonville and Philip (Christina) Brackney of Rabbit Ridge, KY; 20 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 13, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Father John Vaughn and Rev. Jim Lantrip officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. until the service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be William Kingery, Arron Weir, Tom Logan, Philip Brackney, Colby Carter, Henry Green, Mahlon Crowley and David Brackney. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
