HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Bill Lucas, 65, of Slaughters, KY went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, IN.
He was born September 4, 1948 in Christian Co., KY to the late Marvin Lucas and Dorothy Coombs.
Mr. Lucas worked as a building contractor and was the owner-operator of Stone Gate Residences. He was a member of the Great Banquet Community. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church and attended Pritchett's Chapel. He loved playing golf and going to car shows.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Carolyn Burden; two daughters, Tamara Lucas Clayton of Owensboro, KY, and Melissa (Ben) Lucas Almon of White Plains, KY; two brothers, Wesley (Deborah) Hunt of Hopkinsville, KY, and Wayne (Linda) Hunt of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren, Ben Clayton of Cold Springs, KY, Heidi Clayton of Owensboro, Lucas (Tiffany) Almon, Jessie Almon, and Sam Almon, all three of White Plains; and one great grandchild, Mia Almon of White Plains.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Scleroderma Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
