Carl Faulk, 76, of Madisonville, KY

 

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Carl Kemp Faulk, 76, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at his home.

He was born on August 21, 1937 in Mortons Gap, KY to the late Dovie Mason Faulk and Omer Ray Faulk. He worked for Peabody Coal Company for twenty-two years as an electrician and mechanic. He was a charter member and trustee of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville, a member of UMWA 9653 and a charter member of the YAA. He was an avid UK fan and his family was of the utmost importance to him. Carl made an impact on all who met him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by ; his sisters, Dorothy Winders, Bernice Stembridge and Wilma Faulk; his brothers, Otis Faulk, Omer Faulk, Jr., Robert Faulk and Bill Faulk; and his great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Buntin and Taylor Buntin.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Julain Faulk; his daughter, Teresa (Dana) Eden of Madisonville; his son, Greg (Vicki) Faulk of Madisonville; his sister, Ann Gamblin of Mortons Gap, KY; his brother, Dempsey Faulk of Mortons Gap; his grandsons, Brian (Taryn) Faulk and Brad (Laura) Faulk both of Madisonville; his granddaughters, Brandy (Dan) Adler of Hanson, KY, April (Travis) Blankenship of Manitou, KY and Ginger Eden of Paducah, KY; his great-grand children, Nathan Buntin, Haylee Blankenship, Myles Adler, Caleb Blankenship, Morgan Buntin and Anyston Buntin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville with Bro. Chuck Evans officiating. Burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Brian Buntin, Nathan Buntin, Brad Faulk, Travis Blankenship, Dan Adler, Anthony Stewart and Kevin Schreiner. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Gamblin, Beaver Vandiver, Larry Wesley Faulk and Nathan Buntin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the music department of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
