Steve Parker, 59, of Hanson, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Steve Parker, 59, of Hanson, KY, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

He was born June 28, 1954 in Evansville, IN to the late Robert Norris Parker and Shirley DeMoss Parker. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rhonda Parker Bell.

Mr. Parker worked as a union insulator for Local 37 out of Evansville. He was a member of Olive Branch Church, a member of International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos workers. He loved riding his Harley and enjoyed watching his boys play sports. He was also a Vietnam Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Nancy Thorpe Parker of Hanson; two sons, Chris Hall of Madisonville and Matthew Parker of Hanson; one step-son, Dylan Basham of Hanson; one brother, Bob Parker of Sebree, KY, one granddaughter, Sasha Hall of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Taylor officiating with graveside service to follow. Military graveside rites will be performed by Hopkins County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2013 and after 12:00 P.M. until the service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eric Daulton, Tom Bell, Ross Thorpe, Kyle Thorpe, Jon Pendley, and Chad Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Daugherty, James Means, and B.J. Parker.
