Nora Katheryn Brown, 84 of Hanson, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Nora Katheryn Brown, 84, of Hanson, KY passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at NHC Healthcare of Madisonville.

She was born on July 2, 1929 in Anton, KY to the late Edna and Gordon Crumbaker. She retired as a teacher at Hanson Elementary in Hanson and attended First United Methodist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Keith Brown; her son, Dr. Terry E. (Jamie) Brown of Hanson; her sister, Eva Michaels of Dallas, TX; her granddaughters, Katelyn Brown and Karah Brown both of Lexington, KY; her niece, Kay Campbell of Dallas, TX.; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Dale Carden officiating and Dr. Monroe Slaton assisting. Burial to follow in Hanson Cemetery in Hanson.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Harry Brown, Jimmy Eastwood, Joe Melton, Butch Clayton, David Baldwin and Barry Clayton. Honorary pallbearer will be F.W. Livingston.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
