HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Winfred 'Boogie' Duncan, 73 of Madisonville, KY passed away at 5:09 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on October 30, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Oather and Louella Duncan. He was formerly a self employed contractor and was a member of Covenant Community Church in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita Duncan and Charlotte Ballard and his brother, Arnold Duncan.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Duncan; his daughters, Angi Duncan of Ohio and Lisa Duncan of Louisville, KY; his son, David (Karen) Duncan of Madisonville; his step-son, Allen Courington of Campbellsville, KY; his grandchildren, Chandler Stanke, Ashlea Stanke and Tiffany Duncan; his step-grandchildren, Eric Heltsley and Chasity Messinger; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Wanda (Levi) Knight, Shirley (Larry) Wilson and Della Garrison; and his brother, Oather (Peggy) Duncan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Covenant Community Church in Madisonville with Dr. Michael Knight officiating and Rev. Jim Leek and Rev. Paula Farmer assisting. Burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Covenant Community Church. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Health Hospice. Envelopes will be available.
