Julia E. 'Lisbeth' Rideout, 93, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Julia E. 'Lisbeth' Rideout, 93, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

She was born October 31, 1919 in Bainbridge, KY to the late Milton Gordon Cornelius and Lura Ann Bryant Cornelius. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse F. 'Fred' Rideout; three brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Rideout was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. She was also a member of the Sports Medicine Fitness Center. She enjoyed playing golf, quilting, playing cards and tole painting. Her claim to fame was being the first woman to have a hole-in-one at Western Hills Golf Course in Hopkinsville, KY.

She is survived by, one daughter, Judith Ann (John B.) Hart of Bristol, IN; two sons, Gary F. (Linda Vee) Rideout of Sevierville, TN and Thomas A. Rideout of Paducah, KY; two sisters, Vivian Cranor of Hopkinsville, KY and Annette Lewis of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, John Rideout; Scott Rideout; Libby Moncrief; Angie Murdock; Lt. Col. Brett Hart and Erich Hart and 11 great grandchildren, Heather Dart; Jesse Rideout; Kelly Rideout; Austin Rideout; Madison Rideout; Andy Moncrief; Joey Moncrief; Riley Hart; Gannon Hart; Drake Hart and Reagan Hart.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Jim McMurtrie officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Rideout, Scott Rideout, Lt. Col. Brett Hart, Erich Hart, Sergio Chavez and Johnny Ashby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Citizens Center or the American Red Cross. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
