According to Central City Police Department Detective Steve Casey, the accident occurred around 7:55 a.m.

Sarah Guthrie, 26, of Central City, was driving a 2010 Honda CVR and made a right hand turn off of Second Street when she struck a 2008 Toyota Camry, driven by Karon Sampson, 51, also of Central City, according to police.

Casey told Surfky News that Guthrie's vehicle then overturned. She was trapped inside briefly. She was removed from the vehicle by Central City Fire Department  personnel, who had to cut out the front windshield in order to free her from the vehicle.
