Thomas 'Tom' Owen Pewitt, 47, of Madisonville, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Thomas 'Tom' Owen Pewitt, 47, of Madisonville, Ky, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1966 in Franklin, TN to the late Fred Pewitt and Nellie Todd Pewitt. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Joy Pewitt and an infant child, Faith Pewitt.

Mr. Pewitt was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Madisonville. He enjoyed reading The Bible and devotionals. He also enjoyed helping others, with an amazing love for people and nature.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Olson Pewitt; three sisters and one brother.

Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Madisonville with Rev. Lon Lorton officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Tom Pewitt Fund c/o Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the church.
