Galicana 'Lily' Celi, 80, of Madisonville, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Galicana 'Lily' Celi, 80, of Madisonville, Ky, formerly of Jackson Heights, NY, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.

She was born June 25, 1933 in the Philippines to the late Lazaro Gutierrez and Sofia Pamplona Gutierrez. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Valentin Celi in June 2013.

Mrs. Celi was an RN. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelist in New York. She enjoyed reading, eating attending church, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Lina Beth Celi of Queens, NY; Liza Pancho of Bergenfield, NJ and Leni Soriano of Louisville, Ky; one son, Leo Celi of Boston, Massachusetts; two sisters, Erma De Los Santos of Fullerton, CA and Tedee Cruz of Minnetonka, MN; one brother, Phil Guiterrez of Anaheim, CA and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Philippines Red Cross. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
