Leo Menser, 89, of Dawson Springs, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Leo Menser, 89, of Dawson Springs, Ky, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, Ky. Mr. Menser was born on December 12, 1924 in Hopkins Co., Ky to the late William Lester Menser and Jennie Lee Nixon Menser. He was retired after being self employed for many years in the furniture business. Mr. Menser served his country as a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945 and he was a member of our fighting forces during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Mr. Menser served with the Dawson Springs Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years, he was a member of the Lee Wilson Stevens VFW Post 5359, and he was of General Baptist faith.

Mr. Menser is survived by his wife of 63 years~ Willodean Menser of Dawson Springs, Ky and four nieces and one nephew.

Preceding Mr. Menser in death are his parents; six brothers~ Hardy Menser, Orvil Menser, Morris Menser, Earnest Menser, and Elvis Menser; and one sister~ Geneva Lorain Inglis.

Visitation for Mr. Leo Menser will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 and on Sunday, January 5, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, Ky. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2014 with Rev. Ruby Rickard, officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Dawson Springs, Ky. Miliary rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army at Rosedale Cemetery.
