Gerald R. Rich, 67, of Madisonville, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Gerald R. Rich, 67, of Madisonville, Ky, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2014, at his residence.

He was born January 26, 1946 in Hopkins Co., Ky to the late Columbus Rich and Opal Forbes Rich. He was also preceded in death by one son, Michael R. Rich; two sisters, Sue Winstead and Jeanette Rich Wiley; and one brother, William 'Billy' Rich.

Mr. Rich was a US Army veteran of Vietnam, a life member of the VFW Post 5480 in Madisonville and loved woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Rich; two daughters, Elizabeth Arwen Rich Johnson and her husband Troy of Madisonville and Kellie Rich Ruble of Jefferson City, MO; one sister, Nell Smith of Madisonville and grandchildren, Matthew Blake Johnson; Stephanie Rich; Jacob Ruble and Chloe Ruble.

Private graveside services were held on Saturday December 4, 2014 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with Robert R. Cart, III officiating.

Pallbearers were Jason B. Brantley, Michael 'Eric' Cook, Marshall A. Strader and Scott Strader. Honorary pallbearer was Don Strader.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
