Laura Howton, 83, of Nebo, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Laura Howton, 83, of Nebo, Ky, passed away at Monday, January 6, 2014 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville, Ky.

She was born October 16, 1930 in Hopkins County, Ky to the late Clarence Adkins and Cora Utley Adkins. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Adkins and Rosie Walker; and two brothers, Austin Adkins and James Adkins.

Mrs. Howton was a member of Silent Run Baptist Church for 68 years.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William F. Howton, Jr. of Nebo; one sister, Frances (Thomas) Traylor of Princeton, Ky; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Silent Run Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Silent Run Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
