HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. -  Elizabeth Ann Allen Armstrong, 74, of Madisonville, Ky, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at her residence.

She was born April 12, 1939 in Franklin, KY to the late Roy Allen and Sarah Elizabeth Breedlove.

Mrs. Armstrong was a secretary for the Kentucky Department of Transportation. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she served in the nursery for over 30 years. She retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation with more than 30 years of service as a secretary. She enjoyed reading, needlework, gardening, and attending all of her kids and grandkids sporting events. She also loved her pets.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty (Jewell) Galloway of Madisonville and Barbara (Glenn) Grant of Evansville, IN; two sons, Scott (Tina) Armstrong of Madisonville and Chris (Heather) Armstrong of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Judy Sullivan of New Orleans, LA and Susan (Pat) Wise of Middletown, OH; one brother, Tandy (Teri) Allen of LaGrange, KY; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and her caregivers, Barbara DeSimas, Lois Andrews, Becky Jarvis, Liz Brooks, and Chana Irvin.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins County Humane Society. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
