Virginia Myrl Epley Wilkerson, 91 of Mortons Gap, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Virginia Myrl Epley Wilkerson, 91 of Mortons Gap, Ky passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Baptist Health, Madisonville. She was born March 14, 1922 in Muhlenberg Co. to the late James and Hattie Epley. She worked for many years as the city clerk of Mortons Gap and was a member of Mortons Gap First Baptist Church.

She is also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charles Dairl Wilkerson; sisters, Mary Watkins and Dorothy Travis; brothers, James Epley, Jr. and J.W. Epley; and her daughter, Myrl Wilkerson Bandy.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Laura Bandy of Lebanon, Ky and Scott (Lauren) Bandy of Bowling Green, Ky; great grandchild, Kierstin Bandy; son in law, Mike Bandy of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Bandy Funeral Home, Nortonville with Bro. Len Young officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Nortonville. Condolences may be made online at bandyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the New Salem Cemetery Fund or donate Gideon Bibles.
