Bobbie Riggs, Sr., 75, of Nebo, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Bobbie Riggs, Sr., 75, of Nebo, Ky passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on April 5, 1938 in Ashbyburg, Ky to the late Minnie Bell Edwards Riggs and Claude Riggs. He was a truck driver for thirty-eight years with Goldenrod in Madisonville, Ky. He was a member of Masonic Lodge CS Hoffman #252 and Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou, Ky.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughters, Littie Frances Riggs and Minnie Genise Riggs; his grandson, David Eugene Riggs, Jr.; five brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Louise Riggs; his sons, David Eugene Riggs, Sr. of Nebo, and Bobbie Joe (Trina) Riggs, Jr. of Manitou; his daughter, Sherron (Mike) Rickard of Madisonville; his brother, Jerome (Ida) Riggs of Madisonville; his sisters-in-law, Audrey Riggs of Hanson, Ky and Maggie Riggs, of Henderson, Ky; his granddaughters, Keyona (Cody) Corley of Hartford, Ky and Melissa Riggs of Nebo; his grandsons, Nick Burdin of Beaver Dam, Ky and Dustin Riggs of Nebo; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and former daughters-in-law, Annette Riggs and Lisa Wells.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Eddie Fleming and Bro. Dennis Mosby officiating. Burial to follow in Onton Cemetery in Onton, Ky.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday with a Masonic Rites service at 6 p.m. and visiting from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at Harris Funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Riggs, Melissa Riggs, Nick Burdin, Keyona Corley, Cody Corley and Ronald Gene Riggs.
