Jonell Stanley, 85, of Madisonville, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Jonell Stanley, 85, of Madisonville, Ky passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at NHC Healthcare Madisonville.

She was born on December 9, 1928 in Madisonville, Ky to the late Verdie Cunningham Clayton and Ruby Dallas Clayton. She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Madisonville and TOPS. Jonell enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center and being involved in the activities.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stanley; her brothers, Kenneth Clayton and J.W. Villines; her sisters, Earlene Ferguson, Anna Harris and Betty Grisham; and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Tink) Richardson of Mortons Gap, Ky and Debbie (Terrell) McKnight of St. Charles, Ky; her son, Dennis (Sandy) Stanley of Madisonville; her brothers, Troy Wayne Clayton of Madisonville and J.D. Clayton of Florida; her sister, Beatrice Stroud of Evansville, IN; her grandchildren, Jay Richardson, Mandi Robinson, Jason Knight, Amber Knight and Michael Stanley; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Doug Anderson officiating. Burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Monday at Harris Funeral Home.
