Traffic Stop Ends in Meth Arrest in Central City

drug arrest meth 01 300CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (2/2/14) ― A traffic stop performed by Kentucky State Trooper Jon McGehee about 7:46 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 in Central City resulted in the arrest of the driver for DUI and drug charges.

According to a KSP report, McGehee stopped a vehicle being driven by Dawne L. Brown, 19, which led to her arrest for driving under the influence.

An investigation of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamines, marijuana and a prescription medication.

Brown was charged with DUI, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance/meth, failure to be in possession of operator's license, failure to notify address change to DOT, failure to provide insurance card, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a legend drug. She was lodged in the Muhlenberg Detention Center.

McGehee was assisted by Trooper Sgt. Matt Jordan and Trooper Jacob Fortney.
