Two Arrested in Central City Meth Bust

drug arrest meth 01 300CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (3/19/14) ― Two Muhlenberg County residents were charged for drugs after Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at 3:20 a.m., Wednesday, March 19 at the Bryan Hill Apartments on West Reservoir Avenue in Central City.

According to a KSP report, upon execution of the search warrant, Trooper Jeff McWhorter, Trooper Jacob Fortney and Sgt. Tim Sales located approximately three grams of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Trooper McWhorter charged Nicholes D. Shanks, 23, and Josie A. Dunlap, 22, both of Central City, with first-degree trafficking controlled substance, a Class C Felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Shanks and Dunlap were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office and the Central City Police Department assisted with the arrests.
