Ruby J. Perkins, 100, Madisonville, Ky.

ruby-jewellMADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/11/14) — Ruby J. Perkins, 100, of Madisonville, Ky., passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

She was born May 24, 1913 in Hopkins County Ky., to the late Victor Calvert and Ella Ausenbaugh Calvert. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Perkins, four brothers, four sisters and one son, Donald Perkins.

She was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Dawson Springs, Ky., for 78 years. She was a retired teacher for the Hopkins County School system.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Ron) Steinhardt of Belleville, Ill., five grandchildren, Susie (Steve) Mertz, Dr. Deon Perkins, LeAnn (Kirt) Langston, Mark (Kathy) Kabureck and Keith (Pam) Kabureck, nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, one brother, John Calvert of Mishawaka, Ind., best friend, Rosann Owens and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Ben Buttero and Rev. Clyde Sharber officiating at Gospel Assembly Church. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Ky.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from noon until service time Sunday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Deon Perkins, Mark Kabureck, Trevor Kabureck, Keith Kabureck, Ross Phillips, Brad Todd, Kirt Langston and Steve Mertz.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gospel Assembly Church. Envelopes will be made available.
