Accident Injury 01 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (4/18/14) – One man was arrested and another cited following a one-vehicle crash in the 5100 block of Veach Rd. on Thursday, according to authorities with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responding to the scene of the accident at 11:46 p.m. alleged witnesses told them a passenger in the 2004 Ford Focus got out of the automobile and was seen running into the woods before police arrived. Deputies with the aid of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit located Michael J. Dillehay, 33, Owensboro, nearby where he had allegedly passed out. Dillehay was arrested on charges of intoxication in a public place and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center.

The driver of the vehicle, Michael P. Dillehay, 65, was trapped in the vehicle after the collision. Daviess County Fire Department worked to free him, and he was taken to Owensboro Health for treatment. Deputies said they cited him and released him, though the exact charges weren’t immediately available.

Police said the accident occurred after Michael P. Dillehay apparently lost control of the vehicle as he was driving east and ran through a guardrail.
