CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (5/11/14) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 9 on the Western Kentucky Parkway, two miles east of Central City.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher Kight of Paducah, was operating a 2002 Lexus RX300 westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway. Kight told police that his tires dropped off the roadway and into the median. Kight stated that he over-corrected and lost control of his vehicle. Kight's vehicle then crossed the right hand lane and exited the right shoulder. After exiting the roadway, Kight's vehicle then struck a tree, according to a KSP report.
Kight was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Trooper Jerry Knight investigated the collision. Trooper Knight was assisted at the scene by the Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS.
