He was born December 30, 1948 in London, Ky. to the late Troy Goodloe Bowling, whom passed away May 1, 2000, and Marion Lois Napier Bowling.
Mr. Bowling was an air traffic controller in Memphis and retired from GE Aircraft Engines as a production controller. He was a member of the Pennyrile Church of Christ. He was also a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Monkey Mountain.
He is survived by his mother, Marion Lois Napier Bowling of Madisonville; one daughter, Christina Lee Bowling of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Kathy Gail (George) Pearce of Madisonville; one niece, Natalie Pearce of Louisville, Ky.; one nephew, Dr. Troy (Sarah) Pearce of Hebron, Ky.; four great nephews, Hagen Pearce, Catcher Pearce, Macallan Pearce, Presley Pearce; one great niece, Campbell Pearce; and his sweetheart, Cindy Wright of Dalton, Ky.; her children, Dr. Leah Wright (Eddy) Morris and Irvin (Angela) Wright, and her grandchildren, Landon Cline, Macy Wright, Luke Wright, Van Morris, and Georji Morris.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Louis Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Blankenship, Irvin Wright, Dr. Troy Pearce, Eddie Bowling, Bill Brown, and Billy Folk. Honorary pallbearers will be Mel Wyatt and George Pearce.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Josh Cares Organization in Cincinnati or the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
