Nina S. Offutt, 85, of Madisonville, Ky.

nina s offuttMADISONVILLE, Ky. – Nina S. Offutt, 85, of Madisonville, Ky. passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville.

She was born November 11, 1928 in Hanson, Ky. to the late Hershel Thomas Steffy and Maudie Lee Griffin Steffy. Mrs. Offutt was a member of Christian Assembly. She worked as a secretary and billing clerk for National Mine Service and retired with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, quilting, was an avid UK fan, an AARP member, and a Kentucky Colonel.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Offutt, and her brothers, Hershel "Jr.", Roland, Welburn, and Dalton Steffy.

She is survived by two sons, Robert E. "Bobby" (Debbie) Offutt of Madisonville and Ray Michael (Donna) Offutt of Carmi, Ill.; one sister, Drucella S. Burrow of Evansville, Ind.; four grandchildren, Andrea (Nick) Holeman, Travis Offutt, Ashley (Jason) Burris, and Brandon Offutt; and one great grandchild, Braelyn Thomas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Ellis and Rev. Glen Hobgood officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the AARP. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
