John L. Webb, 71, of Madisonville, Ky.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. – John L. Webb, 71, of Madisonville, Ky. passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at his home from a long term illness.

He was born on September 5, 1942 in Mannington, W.Va. to the late John L. Webb Sr. and Ruby Stella Webb. He was formerly a coal miner and an iron worker for TVA. He was a long time member of Bethany Baptist Church in Madisonville, Ky.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters and a grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Etha Pendley Webb; his son, Jason (Lori) Webb of Manitou, Ky.; his daughters, Rebecca (Brad) Sharber of Madisonville, Misty (Matthew) Hartman of Madisonville and Bethany Webb of Madisonville; three brothers; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Marvin Phillips officiating. Burial to follow at Hanson Cemetery in Hanson, Ky.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.
