MADISONVILLE, Ky. – Jeanette Qualls, 94, of Madisonville, Ky. passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her residence.
She was born March 5, 1920 in Hopkins County, Ky. to the late Robert Woodruff and Ida O'Roarke Woodruff.
Mrs. Qualls was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was in the Martha Casey Circle and the SOS Circle. She was bookkeeper for the youth group and active with ASPCA. She was a master gardener before the terminology was invented. She made the best banana pudding, pecan pie, and fried okra. She spoiled and loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Qualls and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Rodger (Mona) Qualls of Huntsville, Ala.; a cousin, Wanda Woodruff of St. Charles, Ky.; one nephew, Gary Woodruff of Tulsa, Okla.; two granddaughters, Kalyn and Heather Kilgore of Huntsville, Ala.; and one grandson, James Morgan Woodruff (Wendy) Qualls of Huntsville, Ala.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Edwards officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Mausoleum in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donation may be made to the First Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
