ATV Accident with Injuries

cleatonCLEATON, Ky. (8/13/14) — A juvenile female was injured and transferred via medical ambulance to Nashville after having an ATV accident last night.

Central Dispatch received a call of an ATV accident at 9:16 p.m. on Kentucky 2107 between Drakesboro and Central City.

According to Kentucky State Trooper Jeff McWhorten, a 17-year-old-female was riding a Honda 250 four-wheeled vehicle on Kentucky 2107 when it slipped off the curb causing the vehicle to wreck.

Emergency crews from both Central City and Drakesboro were called to the scene to render assistance. The highway was shut down for about a mile to allow a medical helicopter to land and transport the victim to Vanderbilt Hospital.

The nature of the injuries have not been released at this time nor has the name of the victim.
