Senators McConnell, Paul Campaign in Muhlenberg

mcconnel-muhlenbergGREENVILLE, Ky. (8/13/14) — Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul made speaking appearances today at Ray Jones Trucking in Greenville.

The crowd was thick with a couple of hundred people waiting to greet McConnell and hear what he had to say.

Ray Jones introduced Paul as the first speaker. In his speech, Paul said that the president promised to bankrupt the coal industry.

"Obama is acting like a king," said Paul.

Paul said that Kentucky needs McConnell to defend against the president and Washington. Paul then introduced McConnell to speak.

McConnell began his speech by saying that the presidential administration has done a lot of damage to this country. This has been the slowest recovery for our country coming out of a deep recession since WWII, he said.

"Change the country by changing the leadership," said McConnell. "Obama is using the Senate as a firewall to defend against the House. The solution is to have a guy from Kentucky setting the agenda."

McConnell asked voters to look back at the past six years and how the administration's policies has not contributed to the country's success.

McConnell finished by saying that Kentucky needs him as the next U.S. Senate Majority Leader.
