robCENTER2HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (9/3/14) — Hopkinsville Police are investigating a robbery from Sept. 2, 2014, at approximately 8:45 a.m. that involved 63 year old robbery victim Charles Steven Page of Hopkinsville.

Page was approached by an unknown black male in the area of the 300 block of East 18th Street when the black male assaulted Page and took an unknown amount of money. According to Page, he was walking on the alley between East 18th Street and Bryan Street when an unknown black male yelled at him. Page said he looked and saw a newer model white in color or blue in color car and he said the passenger got out and demanded money. Page said this unknown robber produced a black semi-automatic handgun and struck him several times causing him to fall to the ground and once on the ground the robbery suspect took money from Page's pocket. The suspect then ran towards an alley the leads to Clay Street. Page told police the driver of the blue or white car was a heavier set black male with long dreads and he never got out of the car. The passenger/robber was shorter and has a slim build with short braids or dreads.

Police are asking if anyone has knowledge of the robbery suspects to please call the Hopkinsville Police Department Detective Section at (270) 890-1500 or the Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers at (270) 887-TIPS.

Hopkinsville Police are also investigating a separate possible robbery that occurred on Sept. 2, 2014, at approximately 1 p.m. at the corner of Cypress Street and Canton Street where the robbery victim told police he was robbed by a Hispanic male and a black male. Hopkinsville Police do not believe these two robberies are connected in any way and both are still actively ongoing investigations.

As with the first robbery, police are asking anyone that may have any information about the Cypress Street/Canton Street robbery to please call the above mentioned phone numbers with your information.
