Rev. Melvin Leon Wilkinson, 86, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Rev. Melvin Leon Wilkinson, 86, of Madisonville, KY went home to be with the Lord at 7:20 A.M. Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville.

He was born March 8, 1925 in New Castle, IN to the late Rev. Lloyd Wilkinson and Chrystal Carr Wilkinson. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Wilkinson.

Rev. Wilkinson was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for the last 18 years in Madisonville, he served as a minister for 63 years in the Church of the Nazarene at churches in Indiana, and Kentucky, including 5 years in Argentina and 5 years in Uruguay, was a member of the Guild of Organist- Evansville Chapter.

Rev. Wilkinson is survived by his wife, Carol E. Tooley Wilkinson of Madisonville and one son, Daniel Melvin Wilkinson of Hopkinsville, KY.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Church of the Nazarene in Madisonville with Rev. Daniel Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home and after 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the service time at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Nazarene Missions International.
